// Rachid Taha
Rachid Taha is a pioneer of France’s musical melting-pot. He founded the legendary band Carte de Séjour in the Eighties, mixing uncalculated doses of punk and rock music in his anarchic cauldron. Since 1998, he has been releasing solo albums that delve on his multiple identities. His re-working of the classic Ya Rahia remains a favourite in night-clubs and Club Méditérranée - but Taha has proved that he is a rare pearl, able to distill classics and futuristic melodies that never stray from his roots. For years, English guitarist Steve Hillage has worked with the French Algerian musician and his rasping voice.
